Steve ballmer is facing one of biggest decisions of his career: Walk away from Microsoft's $42.7 billion acquistion offer for Yahoo or launch the largest hostile takeover battle in tech-industry history.
The choice comes after Yahoo(YHOO,news,msgs) declined to agree to a deal by the Saturday deadline set by the Microsoft's (MSFT,news,msgs) chief executive-and after the two sides failed to make any progress in recent weeks in resolving the disagreement over price that has divided them over the last three months.
