I have been waiting for this to come, it amazing that I am motivated to get back to class. This is a big change from when I was younger. Except for wanting to see to new young girls in class, as the semester goes on I will keep this blog active.

Will Microsoft Will Ever Stop Selling Window XP

While writing up the release details of Asus' Eee Box today, it took me a moment to twig that the machine was slightly odd. Why? Because it's coming out in August, it'll be using Windows XP and it's a desktop PC. Microsoft had set June 30 as the cut-off date for XP sales, except for "netbooks" like the mobile Eee PC - how come a desktop is going to be available with the OS after that cut-off date?The answer is self-evident: the Eee Box's innards are very similar to those of, say, the upcoming Eee PC 1000 - both use the low-powered Atom processor, for example - and it simply can't handle Vista. But, I asked Microsoft, surely the XP extension was only for netbooks...Not so, says Microsoft. Didn't I see that press release that came out on June 3, in which they said XP would continue to be available on "nettops" like the Eee Box? Well, no, I didn't, nor had anyone in the office. Onto the intarwebs though, and there it is.I can see why I missed it the first time. Here's the title: "Following Success of Windows on Netbooks, Microsoft Extends Windows Offering to Nettop Devices". And on it goes, for almost 600 words, with almost no mention of the name "XP" (it is in there once, towards the bottom, buried in a quote from Cellnet's general manager). So, here's the deal: Microsoft is killing off XP for desktops, except for desktops that are - and this really is the sole criterion - "ultralow-cost". Bearing in mind that this is going to be an exploding market, that means Microsoft isn't really killing off XP at all, much as it would love to."The company is seeing much demand among industry partners who want to ensure that customers can have the benefits of Windows on both new and existing devices," says the release. Indeed.

Dell Will Stop Selling Window XP PCs

Starting sometime in mid-June Dell state that they will stop selling Window XP OCs .However, it has offered a compromise in the form of an XP Pro Downgrade service from Vista Business or Ultimate, but only available when buying XPS 630 or 720 H2C gaming machines, or the M1730 laptop. The downgrade will be availale until the end pf January 2009, when Microsoft's system builder licenses for XP Pro, Tablet PC Edition. Pro x64 Edition and Media Center Edition expire.
Microsoft has also stated that it will offer full technical support for XP Home and Media Centre until April 2009. Users of ultra low cost PCs needn't panic, as Microsoft cities a special end-date 2010, or "one year after the general availability of the next version of Window" for the super-cheap systems.

I am Back

I had to take off for a little while, I am still in school. The courses that I am taking this summer is accelerated, because of the five week summer session. It has put a lot of pressure on me , but that seem to motivate in during my home work. The classes that I took during the spring semester has definitely help for this semester. The course in Information in Technology would of being nice if I could taking it before those classes I had in the spring.

The Beginning Of The Summer Session

I am glad to be back in school for the summer session, even though the break was good. I needed to be back in that school atmosphere. The first of class wasn't that bad compare to when I started the spring semester. I have more confident in myself , I can possibly see some type of future in the computer world.
