While writing up the release details of Asus' Eee Box today, it took me a moment to twig that the machine was slightly odd. Why? Because it's coming out in August, it'll be using Windows XP and it's a desktop PC. Microsoft had set June 30 as the cut-off date for XP sales, except for "netbooks" like the mobile Eee PC - how come a desktop is going to be available with the OS after that cut-off date?The answer is self-evident: the Eee Box's innards are very similar to those of, say, the upcoming Eee PC 1000 - both use the low-powered Atom processor, for example - and it simply can't handle Vista. But, I asked Microsoft, surely the XP extension was only for netbooks...Not so, says Microsoft. Didn't I see that press release that came out on June 3, in which they said XP would continue to be available on "nettops" like the Eee Box? Well, no, I didn't, nor had anyone in the office. Onto the intarwebs though, and there it is.I can see why I missed it the first time. Here's the title: "Following Success of Windows on Netbooks, Microsoft Extends Windows Offering to Nettop Devices". And on it goes, for almost 600 words, with almost no mention of the name "XP" (it is in there once, towards the bottom, buried in a quote from Cellnet's general manager). So, here's the deal: Microsoft is killing off XP for desktops, except for desktops that are - and this really is the sole criterion - "ultralow-cost". Bearing in mind that this is going to be an exploding market, that means Microsoft isn't really killing off XP at all, much as it would love to."The company is seeing much demand among industry partners who want to ensure that customers can have the benefits of Windows on both new and existing devices," says the release. Indeed.

Dell Will Stop Selling Window XP PCs

Starting sometime in mid-June Dell state that they will stop selling Window XP OCs .However, it has offered a compromise in the form of an XP Pro Downgrade service from Vista Business or Ultimate, but only available when buying XPS 630 or 720 H2C gaming machines, or the M1730 laptop. The downgrade will be availale until the end pf January 2009, when Microsoft's system builder licenses for XP Pro, Tablet PC Edition. Pro x64 Edition and Media Center Edition expire.
Microsoft has also stated that it will offer full technical support for XP Home and Media Centre until April 2009. Users of ultra low cost PCs needn't panic, as Microsoft cities a special end-date 2010, or "one year after the general availability of the next version of Window" for the super-cheap systems.

I had to take off for a little while, I am still in school. The courses that I am taking this summer is accelerated, because of the five week summer session. It has put a lot of pressure on me , but that seem to motivate in during my home work. The classes that I took during the spring semester has definitely help for this semester. The course in Information in Technology would of being nice if I could taking it before those classes I had in the spring.

2-Binary Codes- The process of converting a decimal number to its binary equialent is called binary coding.

3-Pure Binary is the result of the conversion is a binary code that is called pure binary.

4-Binary-Coded Decimal- A Code in which each decimal digit is represented by a group 4 binary bits.

5-Excess-3 Code is similar to BCD and is ofter used in some applications because of certain arithmetic operation advantage.

After farther negotiation with Yahoo, Microsoft decide to give up the fight to obtain Yahoo. The final bid that Microsoft offer was $42.3 billion and they were to pay up to 47.5 billion. Yahoo demanded at least $53 billion accordingly to Steve Ballmer, Yahoo's stock price of $19.18 at the time Microsoft first made its bid a little over three months ago.
Steve Ballmer said after careful consideration, we believe the economics demanded by Yahoo do not make any sense to us. In the interest of Microsoft stockholders, employers and stakeholders to withdraw our proposal.

Windows XP is being phrased out for Vista which has, so far,got a lukewarm welcome from many firms.Dell, Hp and Lenovo are exploiting loops holes in Microsoft's licensing terms to extend the operating system beyond June 30, 2008 the end of the life date.

Binary Number system- is a language used by digital computerelectronic circuits.

Decimal Number System-The system found its way to all the Arab counties by A>D> 800, whereit was named the Arabic number system, and from there it was eventually adopted by nearly all the European countries by A>D> 1200, where it was called the decimal number system.
The Base and Radix- is the key features that distinguishes one number system fro another.
Positional Weight-The position of each digit of a decimal number determines the weight of that digit. A 1 by itself, for instance, is only worth 1, whereas a 1 to the left of three )s makes the 1 woth 1000.
MSD- Most Significant Digit-In decimal number system , the left most digit is called the MSD.
LSD-Least Significant Digit-is the right most digit is called LSD.

Through all of personal issues I am proud of myself for sticking with my classes. It was good to try to understand how data is converted to AC Electronic Signal and DC Electronic Signal. The Class in Internet Foundation were very exciting yesterday we cover a lot of material. The Class work our Wiki, which is WWKI known as WhatWeKnowIS. There were some links created and a additional page was created. We have cover so much this semester I never expected to learn as much. Its fun and challenging to create something and watch it evolve into something special. Going To Summer School

Microsoft Blame Game

In court there seem to be a blame game going on between Microsoft and NVIDIA. There seem to be reported that the graphic part od the driver is causing mostly the clashes. NVIDIA
reported to have caused 28.8% of the clashes,Intel 8.8% and ATI 9;3%. Microsoft data shows that it was responsible for 17.( of logged crashes. There are a lot of comments that support the program of Vista and we're using Vista in our classes. I haven't experience any problem since in being using it in class. Hopefully they all will work the bugs and everybody will benefit in long run.

Spring Break

I am going to enjoy this week off from school, but I know that I will do some studying. Its hard to set back and do nothing so I guess I'll do some studying. I think like I've said before a lot of Vista users are very satisfied with this program. I think anything that is new there will some rejections and I don't see a problem with Vista. Vista is the only program that ever used I wish I did have some experience in other programs. Maybe as time goes on I'll get experience. Microsoft has plan on discontinuing XP windows on June 30th. It was a survey done and there were 83% of the people that took the survey was upset about the change to Vista.There were 3500 people in this survey. I think people in general don't like to change Windows XP has work for so long a lot of them don't want change. There are some said they had Vista and down sided to Windows XP.
